Christmas at Gmama's and Gdaddy's, Dec. 20th

We had Christmas at Grandmama and Granddaddy's on Saturday and we had a full house this year. There were 3 babies there and they had a great time. We ate brunch around 11:00 and and then played dirty Santa. Once again Carole brought the gift to fight over. It was this claw like thing that you pick up trash and stuff with. Carole really liked and wanted it herself but all my boys thought it would be a good yard tool. Tony was the winner!! So funny. Only thing missing this year was Mike. He drives a truck and was not able to make it back in, we missed you Mike!!!

Happy Birthday to My Baby!!!!

I can not believe my baby is 16 today!! I remember when he was born, Darryl was 10 and Derek was 8 and I thought wow, I am going to have all those special times all over again that I was blessed with, with my other two babies. I will make it go slower this time. Well, you blink and they are 16. This morning was a little sad for me. Every morning I drive Dave to school, it is our special time to talk and we pray for him and everyone else for the day. I guess the Lord was with me as he got out of the car this morning because, I was half way to work before it hit me this would be that last morning we would have that kind of time together on a daily basis. I guess we will just have to both get up earlier in the mornings now and have that time before he gets in his car and drives himself to school.

Christmas with friends! The Yaya Sisters!

On Friday, we had our Christmas get together!

This year we did it a little different, due to every ones schedule it was hard to find a night when us and all our guys could get together, Tony and Mike had to work, and Kim's hubby was out of town. For a year now we had been talking about having an out of town trip, so Kari offered her house for a sleep over instead. We had a blast!! After everyone got there we ordered pizza and also Kari had baked cookies and we had snacks for the night. We played taboo, which was hilarious, cause Vicky kept forgetting whose team she was on and was helping both teams with the answers. If you know me I am not very good at those kind of games. It really was fun!! Kari put on 70's, 80's and of course 90's music, we even danced a little!! Kim brought paints and plates and we all painted a special Christmas plate. That was a blast! We played dirty Santa and believe it or not, none of us were very dirty to each other. We thought we were all teenagers again for a little while. haha!! Kari had made a hash brown casserole, Cindy a breakfast casserole and I had made a cinnabon coffee cake for Saturday morning. There was milk, juice and coffee!! After we had breakfast we helped Kari hem bags for luminaries for their neighborhood lighting that afternoon, (200) plus of them. After that everyone headed home, probably for well deserved naps. haha!!

Bottom line, we have decided to make it an annual thing and also maybe do one in the warm weather months also. We have all known each other and been friends for 30 plus years and I think it is really awesome we still make time for each other!!! Love ya girls!!

ps, We were so glad Kathy Jones was able to join us!!
