Spring break week 2009!!

I love this picture, it reminds me of my little Derek so much. When Darryl was playing baseball at Cole at age (5), Derek would come dressed in shorts, cowboy boots, gun and holster with a cowboy hat on. He was the cutest thing, man I miss those simple days.

Anyway, on Dave's spring break, I took off the whole week and kept Drew some. On Monday we played at home and on Tuesday we went to Mt. Juliet and played ball. On Tuesday morning Dave and I were packing for Florida and Dave had put all his stuff to be put in the car by the back door. Drew wanted Dave's ball cap and sunglasses so bad. We kept telling him no. See the hat and glasses on top of Dave's bag.

Our little Drew is growing up!!

I just wanted to post some things before I post my Florida trip pictures. I have learned with my own kids that if you do not write things down you forget them and dates. I was looking at my last few post and wanted to add something about Drew and ears that was really cute. Week before last I took Drew to Church and during the closing prayer I was sitting on the edge of the bench with Drew in my lap. When I opened my eyes he was holding on to this little boys ear in front of us. It was hilarious. I apologized and Christian thought it was funny to and said it did not bother him. So watch out if Drew is ever close to you, he might just go for your ear!!



The next thing I wanted to log is Tiff called me this morning and last night Drew officially slept in his big boy bed by himself all night. Now Tiff on the other hand did not sleep well at all. He did not even cry when he woke up he just called out "Mommy". I know for a lot of you this might not be a big deal since your children might have always slept in their beds. The Glover boys on the other hand have always slept with mommy and daddy, mostly mommy. Not telling what age my boys were when they decided they could take on this task on their own. haha!! I never minded though, those years passed by too quickly for me as it was!! Tiff and Darryl are hoping it will keep up since he is such a lite sleeper and we only have a few months before sweet little Makyna gets here!!



One more thing, the official spelling of her name is Makyna Reese Glover!!

Darryl did not like it with an (e) and Tiff did not like it with an (i), so they compromised with a (y).

Monday was Granddaddy's birthday! We went over on Sunday and celebrated!!

Sunday, Tiff, Drew and I went to the Children's Place, (one of my favorites) and got Drew these rain boots. He calls them his barn boots!! So cute!! Now he can help Big Daddy clean the stalls!!

Look how Drew has G'daddy's ear, it is so cute, a lot of times when you are holding him that is the first thing he goes for. Especially if you are rocking him, he is drinking something or just woke up!! This has been his form of security. Just about every time he sits in Tiff's lap he has a hold of her ear. hahah!! He is an ear man!!!!

Alumni Game 2009 "AHS"

On Saturday the 7th of March Antioch had their annual alumni game. It was suppose to have been on the 28th of February, but the bad weather caused it to be rescheduled. We had a pretty good turn out considering most of the Alumni's now have families. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a great time. Of course as usual the Alumni's won.

We had a little misfortune though, Darryl was warming up the pitcher and the ball hit his finger and then his ankle. Immediately his finger started turning black and blue. He went on and played the game though. After the game we went to Hooters and he kept sweating and was feeling sick, we finally figured out it was from the pain. Long story short he had to go to the doctor today and his finger is broke above the Knuckle. The doctor told him 4 to 6 weeks off from work. Good thing he gets sick days. I told Tiff he just needs to coach next year. haha!!

Friday night, after Darryl's dinner Dave was trying to pull his car around the cars in the drive way to get it parked in the back of the house so he could go out with his buddy. Well with all the rain he got stuck and the car slide down in the bushes. I think this was a lesson learned for him and the slope we have in our yard. Tony told him his car was not 4 wheel drive, haha!! All turned out ok though, thanks to Darryl for being the patient one he is when he is doing things like this.

Grandaddy cooked his famous fried chicken for Darryls birthday Friday before last. I am just a little slow on posting, it is baseball season you know!! Derek and Tiff made mashed potatos, Tony made corn and I made green bean casserole and tea. It was sooooo good!!! Grandaddy makes the best fried chicken ever!!!

Happy Birthday to Grandaddy!! We went over to his house to celebrate yesterday afternoon!! Dave has a ball game today and Grandaddy is going to Portland to clean his sisters house today. What a guy to clean house on his birthday!!

Our little Drew does not miss a thing!

Last week he brought his Big Daddy the ace bandage and told him to put it on. After Tony was finished he then came in the kitchen and told me he needed ice. He is so smart for his age. He has been paying close attention to his Uncle Dave icing his arm after practice! He will know all about the does and don'ts of baseball before he can even play the game!!
